The DESIGN Process.
Financial design shouldn't be driven by products. It's the careful crafting of a strategy unique to you, built on sound economic truths and education that empowers you to decide. The word is also the method: six deliberate steps, from the first conversation to a relationship that lasts for years.
The journey · select a step to follow the path
Discuss — Getting to know each other
We start with you and your family — how you currently save, what you feel you're doing well, and where you'd like help.
You ask me anything — about me, my process, and how I help clients reduce debt, mitigate taxes, and maximize cash flow. There's nothing to buy and nothing to commit to. The only goal of this meeting is for both of us to decide whether we're a fit.
You leave with: a clear sense of fit, and zero obligationEvaluate — Finding your present position
Together we take a 360-degree view of your current model and draw what I call your present position.
Income, expenses, current benefits, protection, savings, growth — all on one sheet. The exercise is designed to uncover whether you're unnecessarily, even unknowingly, transferring dollars away. For most people it's the first time they've seen their whole financial life in a single picture.
You leave with: a visual map of exactly where you stand todayStrategize — Designing your solutions
I pinpoint areas that could improve your current and future position, and lay out the pros and cons of each.
We make sure the products and accounts you're using work in a coordinated, integrated fashion rather than in isolation — and we build a measurable plan of action together, designed around what you want to have happen.
You leave with: a strategy you understand and helped shapeImplement — Putting the plan into action
Once you're comfortable with a strategy, we take the steps to put it in motion — and I walk you through every requirement.
Upon implementing your plan, you officially become a client of Financial Design Strategies, with access to ongoing support and a network of associated professionals, tools, resources, and updates on an ever-changing market.
You leave with: a plan in motion — not a binder on a shelfGrow — Monitoring and measuring
Your plan is monitored and maintained. I can test and measure scenarios within your model so you can make educated decisions.
How to spend, save, or invest — tested against your actual model before you decide. We meet consistently, and I'm available for questions or changes whenever life sends them.
You leave with: decisions made with evidence, not guessworkNurture — Continuing to learn, together
Over the years we adjust as circumstances change, and I keep teaching you what I know about money.
My hope is that as our relationship builds, you feel comfortable introducing me to other families like yours — so together we keep building a network of financially empowered families.
You leave with: a lifelong ally, and a family that understands its moneyWhere the value actually lives
Most advisors stop at step four.
Getting started is only half the process. The steps that compound — the ones most people never get — are the ones after the plan is in place.
Getting started
A defined, unhurried onboarding: we meet, we map where you stand, we design a strategy together, and we put it in motion. You're never sold to — you're taught, and then you decide.
The relationship
This is where the real work — and the real value — lives. Your plan is monitored, tested, and adjusted as life changes, and I keep teaching you what I know, for as long as we work together.
What you'll notice is missing
It doesn't feel like being sold to.
Education over products
You'll understand the why behind every recommendation. If you can't see why it serves you, it doesn't belong in your plan.
The decision is always yours
I lay out the pros and cons; you choose. My job is to make the choice clear, not to make it for you.
A plan you helped build
We create a measurable plan of action together — not a product you were handed across a desk.
It doesn't end at the sale
Grow and Nurture mean we meet consistently for years — testing scenarios, adjusting, and learning together.
"My greatest pleasure is to watch my clients grow and thrive — and most importantly, sleep better, knowing they have an ally in the industry."
It starts with D — a conversation.
No products, no pressure, no cost. Just the first step: getting to know each other, and answering every question you bring.
The introductory session is step D — Discuss. Everything after it moves at your pace.
